About Me

Experienced, Local Criminal Defense

Rockbridge County, Lexington,
and Buena Vista, Virginia

I am attorney James D. McMichael. I have 37 years of legal experience. I have handled hundreds of trials, motion hearings, and appeals. I regularly defend residents of Virginia and out-of-state residents who are charged with crimes in Rockbridge County, Lexington, and Buena Vista, Virginia.

In 1982, I graduated in the top 5% of my law school class at the University of Texas, which is ranked as one of the top 15 law schools in America, where I was chosen for the staff of the Law Review.

I am admitted (licensed) to practice law in Washington, D.C., and Maryland, as well as in Virginia.
